How to Get Rid of Dog or Cat Pee Smell on Concrete

So your dog or cat peed on your concrete floor. And because concrete is porous, the urine seeped in nice and deep. So now your basement or garage smells of animal urine. Now what? Don’t despair; you just need to eliminate the urine smell at the source. The good news is it’s easier than you think. Read on to see how. Eliminating animal urine odor from concrete floors – step-by-step instructions All it takes to remove dog or cat urine smell from concrete is the right odor removers and a few minutes of your time. It really is that easy – and it really does work. Here’s what you do: Step 1: Clean the animal urine from the concrete floor We always recommend the all-purpose cleaner and animal odor neutralizer Purodora Disinfectant and Animal Odor Neutralizer. It offers better results in less time, and can be used for all sorts of general cleaning/odor neutralizing tasks around the house. Wipe up any excess animal urine from the floor. Clean the floor with 2/3 cup of Purodora Disinfectant and Animal Odor Neutralizer diluted in 1 gallon (4 L) of warm water.Allow the concrete to air dry (in hot, dry weather) or use a heater/fan (during cold or damp weather). Step 2: Eliminate the cat or dog urine smell from the floor You can clean the surface of the floor all you want, but unless you get to the urine deep inside the pores of the concrete, you’ll never get rid of that powerful urine odor. To do that, you’ll need a powerful urine odor remover that can penetrate concrete. The best product for getting pee smell out of any surface (both porous and non-porous) is Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer. It works miracles on concrete, hardwood or floating floors, carpets, mattresses or sofas – and best of all, it’s safe for you and your pet, nor will it damage the concrete. One treatment is all it takes to get pet urine smell out of surfaces forever. Just spray and walk away! (Seriously, if you have a pet, this is the product you need.) Once the floor is clean and dry, spray Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer undiluted directly onto the affected area. Pro Tip What to do if Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer leaves a dark ring on fabrics Alcohol-based products like Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer can sometimes leave a dark ring on some colored fabrics where the dye has not set properly. No need to worry! Simply rub the fabric with a damp cloth and the stain will immediately disappear. We know you’re desperate to get rid of that pet urine odor from your floor. Please think twice before trying a home remedy. Not all will be safe for you, your family, your pet or even your floor. Avoid adding to your frustration. Stick to products that are proven to be safe and effective. What to do if your cat or dog keeps peeing in the same spot When dogs and cats urinate, they release a pheromone that incites them to keep relieving themselves on that same spot. If your cat or dog has peed several times on the same spot, it’s possible that all this urine has penetrated deep into the concrete – possibly deeper than the first treatment with Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer was able to reach. If this is the case, simply re-spray the floor with Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer. This second treatment will seep deeper into the concrete floor and eventually work its way down the urine mass. Could your pet’s peeing on the floor be health-related? Sometimes a health problem is behind a pet relieving itself outside the litter box. It might also be due to anxiety. If the problem is fairly new, pay attention to any recent changes in your pet’s environment or daily habits. If in doubt, consult your veterinarian. Eliminate ALL unwanted odors Why live with unpleasant odors when you can easily eliminate them? Purodora has solutions to ALL your odor problems. Our odor removers are safe and they eliminate the problem once and for good! Purodora odor neutralizers are available online and at many pet supply stores. How to get rid of cat or dog pee smell from wood floors

It’s all fun and games until someone pees on the floor. Don’t get mad – just get the right products and you’ll be best friends with Mr. Puddles again in no time. Here’s how to get rid of pet urine smell from a wood floor quickly and safely – along with proven pro tips. Even get rid of old pet pee smells… completely! Why it’s important to use the right product Not all odor removers are made equal. In fact, most aren’t actually odor removers at all; they simply mask the odor, such as deodorizers. These products work for a while but eventually, the pee smell will return. And more often than not, these products end up simply creating an unpleasant mix of odors that actually makes the situation worse. At Purodora, we have been developing odor neutralizing technology for several years. Our odor neutralizing products eliminate even the most stubborn odors (including products that eliminate skunk smell). Purodora odor neutralizers get rid of odors completely, quickly and permanently – even if the odor has been around for months or years. As soon as the product comes into contact with the source of the odor, it molecularly binds to it to neutralize the odor. “I FINALLY solved my cat urine problem…. embedded in porous concrete…. with Purodora Disinfectant and Animal Odor Neutralizer and Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer. At first, I couldn't believe it because I had tried so many products and nothing worked! Today, my basement smells so much better! – Marie-Eve Machabee We’ve received tons of feedback from customers like Marie-Eve over the past 15 years telling us that our products saved their wood and concrete floors. (We love hearing from our clients). How to remove the smell of cat or dog urine from wood floors Getting rid of pee smell from wood floors is actually surprisingly easy when you have the right odor removal product. Depending on the number of spots you need to treat and how embedded the urine is, it should only take a few minutes. A second treatment is sometimes needed for deeply soaked-in urine or very old urine smells. Pro Tip Save time - clean only where needed With Purodora products, you don’t have to clean the entire floor. Just use your nose to locate the source of the urine odors. Common spots for pets to pee are near patio doors, on windowsills, near heaters, in the bathroom or laundry room. How to clean up fresh pet urine from wood floors Just caught your dog or cat peeing on your wood floor? The key is to act quickly. Quickly wipe up the urine with a paper towel and then clean the area with Purodora Disinfectant and Animal Odor Neutralizer to eliminate all traces of urine odor. “For some reason, my dog started repeatedly urinating on the same spot on my hardwood floor. Despite several cleanings, there was still a smell of urine between the wood slats and nothing was working. I was at wit’s end. Then I came across information on the web about Purodora Disinfectant and Animal Odor Neutralizer. Well, it works! My floor no longer smells like urine and my dog hasn’t gone back to urinate on that spot again since. Thank you!” – Nicole Roy Here’s why pet stores, veterinary clinics, boarding houses, breeders, groomers and animal shelters use Purodora Disinfectant and Animal Odor Neutralizer as a routine cleaner and urine odor neutralizer. Quickly eliminates all animal odors (not just urine)Neutralizes odors, doesn’t just mask themDoes double duty as a household cleaner that’s safe to use on all surfaces: wood floors, walls, ceilings, ceramic, cabinets, concrete, etc.Does triple duty as a disinfectant for hard, non-porous surfacesLeaves a clean mint scent for several hoursWon’t damage or dull the finish on wood floorsWater-based and has a neutral pHSafe for people, pets and planet Simply clean the affected area with ½ cup (120 ml) of Purodora Disinfectant and Animal Odor Neutralizer diluted in 1 gallon (4 L) of water. How to clean up pet urine that has penetrated into a wood floor Even if you act quickly, the urine may still seep between the floorboards and underneath. To prevent the urine smell from returning, you’ll need an alcohol-based urine odor remover to treat the area without damaging the wood boards (water-based products take longer to dry and can cause wood to warp). Pro Tip How to stop pets from peeing over and over again on the same spot Pet urine contains pheromones that can incite your dog or cat (or another pet) to relieve itself on that same spot. Even if you can’t smell the urine odor, animals certainly can. That’s why it’s important to eliminate the urine odor completely. Otherwise, it could quickly become a favorite “go” site for your pets. By far the best product to eliminate the smell of old or deeply embedded dog or cat urine is Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer. Here’s why: Neutralizes urine (and other odors) on contactEven totally destroys odors that have been embedded in surfaces for months or even yearsEasy to useWorks on both hard and soft surfaces: wood, ceramic & concrete floors, mattresses, carpets, sofas and moreWon’t stain fabricsLeaves a pleasant citrus scentAlcohol-based product that evaporates quickly to leave surfaces dryWon’t cause boards to swell and warp (like water-based product)Won’t promote the growth of mold “I received a sample of Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer as a floor cleaner and OMG, I love it! I have 3 dogs and was desperate to find a product that could get rid of the smell. I can’t tell you how amazing this product is. And it smells incredible! I would recommend this product to any pet owner.” – Nancy Savard “Purodora Disinfectant and Animal Odor Neutralizer saved my hardwood floor. Even though the urine had been there for years, it completely got rid of the pee odor! And it smells so good!” – Anonymous Pro Tip What to do if Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer leaves a dark ring on fabrics Alcohol-based products like Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer can leave a dark ring on some colored fabrics where the dye has not set properly. No need to worry! Simply rub the fabric with a damp cloth and the stain will disappear immediately. Pro Tip The key is to clean between and under the wood planks Urine doesn’t really seep into the varnished planks of wood or floating wood flooring. Rather, it seeps under the planks through the cracks between the boards. You need to get the odor neutralizer in through these cracks to get at the urine which is causing that pungent urine smell. How to eliminate embedded urine odor on wood floors Use a narrow spout squeeze bottle to get the product in between the cracks of the floor with more precision. Then simply wipe off any excess product on the surface of the floor with a damp cloth. Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer will instantly neutralize the urine odor on contact and then quickly evaporate to leave the space between and under your wood floors dry. No need for multiple treatments; just one treatment does the trick. If the urine odor is coming from a baseboard trim, use a pour spout bottle to get the product in between the floor and the baseboard. If the space between the wood boards is too tight, use a syringe and needle to inject the product. As strange as this may sound, it works like a charm. You can also use this approach to get at urine smells that have seeped into mattresses, car seats and upholstered furniture. Try it – you’ll be amazed!).If after a few days you still can detect a urine odor, it means the product wasn’t able to reach all of the urine the first time around. Simply retreat the area with Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer. Which urine odor destroyer is best to use and when If the pee has just happened and you act quickly, then the water-based Purodora Disinfectant and Animal Odor Neutralizer will do the trick. But if you’re dealing with pee that has been on a wood or laminate wood floor for some time, then it probably has infiltrated between the floorboards. In this case, you’ll need to get the product in between and under the boards. You’ll want to use an alcohol-based product here like Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer instead of a water-based product, which can cause the boards to swell. Both products destroy pee smells as soon as they come into contact with the urine, but because Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer is alcohol-based, it will quickly evaporate to leave the space under floors dry. No risk of swelling or warping. Pro Tip Get more bang for your buck with multi-purpose products that are guaranteed to work We know how frustrating it can be to buy a specialized product that you might only use once in a blue moon. Purodora products are designed to eliminate specific odors, but can also be used for a wide range of purposes. You’ll definitely go through the bottle and end up buying more. Removing Urine Odor in Backyards: How-To Guide

Tired of your backyard reeking of cat or dog urine whenever the weather turns hot and humid? Don’t let a little pee smell cramp your fair-weather fun. This How-To Guide tells you everything you need to know about eliminating pet urine smell from any backyard surface – quickly, safely and completely. Eliminating animal pee smell (and all other unwanted odors) is easier than you think! In this guide: What’s the best product for eliminating urine odor: Neutralizer or deodorizer? How odor neutralizers workRemoving urine odor from hard surfacesRemoving urine odor from fabric surfacesRemoving urine odor from organic surfaces Eliminating other backyard odors Getting rid of skunk smell in backyardEliminating strong smell in garbage, recycling and compost binsHow to get more bang for your buck with multi-purpose odor destroyersWhere to find Purodora products What’s the best product for eliminating urine odor: Neutralizer or deodorizer? Many odor removers aren’t actually odor removers at all. They simply mask the odor, such as deodorizers. These products will work for a while, but eventually the pee smell will come back. Deodorizers often simply produce an unpleasant mix of odors that can make the situation worse. Purodora products use advanced odor neutralizing technology to eliminate even the most stubborn odors on contact (including products that eliminate skunk smell). Pro Tip How to stop animals from repeatedly urinating on the same spot Some animals like unneutered male cats will often mark their territory. Because their urine contains hormones that give it a particularly strong scent, these hormones will attract other animals for as long as any traces of the urine odor remain. There’s also a good chance that the initial culprit will come back to refresh his mark so as to not lose his territory. This can lead to a vicious (and smelly) cycle that can quickly discourage any pet owner. The only way to break this cycle is to eliminate the urine odor completely. Read on to see how. How odor neutralizers work Purodora odor neutralizers quickly eliminate all types of urine odors, including cat or dog urine, completely, quickly and permanently – even if the odor has been around for months or years. As soon as the product comes into contact with the source of the odor, it molecularly binds to it to neutralize the odor. The odor instantly disappears. The only smell that’s left behind is a light pleasant scent. See the science behind this advanced odor neutralizing technology and why Purodora products are guaranteed to work! Pro Tips The key is to make sure the odor neutralizer reaches ALL of the urine To eliminate the smell completely and permanently, odor neutralizers must come in contact with all of the urine (the source of the odor). To remove urine odors from porous or absorbent surfaces such as concrete, asphalt, soil, crushed stone, ceramic grout, raw wood or fabrics, a few treatments may be needed for the product to penetrate deep enough to reach all of the urine. Removing urine odor from hard surfaces Here’s how to get rid of that awful cat or dog urine smell from hard surfaces such as crushed stone, asphalt, concrete, garden furniture, etc. Required materials: Spray bottleDuration of treatment: 15 to 30 minutes depending on the surface being treatedRecommended number of treatments: 1 to 3, depending on the amount of urineRecommended product: Purodora Disinfectant & Animal Odor Neutralizer Why use Purodora Disinfectant & Animal Odor Neutralizer Completely eliminates urine, feces, and skunk spray on a wide variety of hard surfaces both inside and outside the home, such as wood, paving stones, ceramic, concrete, crushed stone, asphalt, etc.Widely used in pet stores, veterinary clinics, kennels, breeders, groomers and animal sheltersNeutralizes bad odors at the source, doesn’t mask themBiodegradable, water-based and pH neutralSafe for the environment and its inhabitantsLeaves a pleasant mint scent in the air for several hoursPlus it’s guaranteed to work! It will make it easier to apply the product over a large surface quickly. Don’t have a garden sprayer? No need to go out and buy one, any old spray bottle will do. Just be sure to completely cover the affected area so that the product can reach all of the urine odor and neutralize it in one treatment. When treating vertical surfaces such as the siding or foundation, be sure to spray a generous amount of product, as much of it will pour downward due to gravity. Depending on how much urine you need to treat, or how embedded it is, several treatments might be needed. Removing urine odor from fabric surfaces Here’s how to get rid of cat or dog urine smell in upholstered patio and garden furniture such as hammocks and seat cushions. Required materials: syringe and needle (only required if urine has seeped through the fabric and into the cushion)Duration of treatment: approximately 15 minutesRecommended number of treatments: 1 to 3, depending on the amount of urineRecommended product: Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer Why use Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer Eliminates the smell of animal urine from virtually any hard or soft surface, both indoors or out (wood floors, ceramic, concrete, mattresses, carpets, sofas and more)Eliminates odors on contact, never masks themNeutralizes stubborn urine odors that have been around for months or yearsEasy to useAlcohol-based: Dries very quickly and won’t cause fabrics and cushions to mildewWon’t stain fabrics like water-based productsLeaves a pleasant citrus scentSafe for the environment and its inhabitantsPlus it’s guaranteed to work How to use Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer Spray Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer on both sides of the affected surface. Allow to air dry. No rinsing required. To remove urine odors that have embedded in thick upholstered seats or cushions: Locate the spot where the urine has soaked in. Then make a circle (using a string or other means) around the affected area. Make the circle 4 to 5 inches bigger than you think it needs to be to ensure you reach all of the urine (it may have spread beyond the visible stain). Use a syringe and needle to inject Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer directly into the cushion. Inject between 3 to 5 ml of the undiluted product at 1-inch (2.5 cm) intervals. Start at the outer edge of the circle and work your way in toward the center. That way you’ll be sure that the product will reach all of the urine. Finish the job by spraying the product all over the outer fabric. Allow to air dry. No rinsing required. The product is alcohol based and will evaporate quickly; it won’t cause fabrics to mildew. The product won’t damage fabrics and will remove even long-embedded odors. Eliminate Unwanted Odors in a Home – How-to Guide

Moving into a new house is always an exciting step in anyone’s life. After all, each home has its own unique charms. Unfortunately, some pre-owned homes also come with their own unique odors – some of which aren’t so charming. Whether you’re getting ready to move or simply tackling some much-needed spring cleaning, this How-To Guide will explain how to get rid of the most common (and unwanted) odors in a home. These tips are also great if you’re getting your home ready for sale. In this guide: What’s the best home odor remover: Neutralizer or deodorizer? How odor neutralizers workThe right technique for getting rid of odors in a home How to get rid of pet odors in the house (cat, dog, ferret, mouse)Eliminating cigarette smell in houseEliminating damp and musty smells from the houseWhat to do if you still smell the odor after a couple of treatmentsWhere to find Purodora products What’s the best home odor remover: Neutralizer or deodorizer? The particles behind a home’s strong, lingering odors such as urine, cigarette and musty smells, can seep into all sorts of surfaces. When it comes to eliminating any unwanted smell, you have to locate the source of the odor and neutralize it. Unfortunately, few products sold in stores are actually odor neutralizers; they simply mask or deodorize the smell. Some merely create an unpleasant mix of odors that can make the situation worse. Even if these products do work for a while, the unwanted odor will eventually return. To completely eliminate stubborn odors for good, you need a product containing an odor neutralizer that’s specific to the molecule behind the odor. Purodora products use advanced odor-neutralizing technology to eliminate even the most stubborn odors on contact (including products that eliminate skunk smell). How odor neutralizers work Purodora odor neutralizers quickly and permanently eliminate all types of tough odor problems, including cigar, wet dog smell and urine. They even eliminate odors that have been around for years. As soon as the product comes into contact with the source of the odor, it molecularly binds to it to neutralize the odor. The odor instantly disappears. The only smell Purodora products leave behind is a fresh, pleasant scent. See the science behind this advanced odor neutralizing technology and why Purodora products are guaranteed to work! PRO TIPFor best results, make sure the odor neutralizer reaches ALL of the unwanted odor To eliminate the unwanted smells completely and permanently, odor neutralizers need to come into contact with the entire source of the odor. For deeply embedded odors, a few treatments may be needed for the product to reach all of the odor-causing molecules and neutralize them entirely. The right technique for getting rid of odors in a home Having the right products is important, but it will only take you so far. You also need to use the right odor-removing technique. Below we explain the best odor-removing techniques and products that are proven to work. How to get rid of pet odors in the house (cat, dog, ferret, mouse) If the previous tenants had multiple pets, the house or apartment might be full of all sorts of animal smells: cat urine, wet dog, skunk spray – pets can create a kaleidoscope of smells! PRO TIPGeneral pet odor or urine smell? The first step is to figure out what type of odor you’re dealing with, since different odors need to be treated with different products. Eliminating general pet odors Eliminating general pet odors from hard surfaces We recommend using Purodora Disinfectant and Animal Odor Neutralizer. It’s used by pet stores, veterinary clinics, boarding houses, breeders, groomers and animal shelters as a routine cleaner and urine odor neutralizer. Quickly eliminates all animal odorsNeutralizes odors, doesn’t mask themDoes double duty as a household cleaner and disinfectant that’s safe to use on all hard surfaces: wood floors, walls, ceilings, ceramic, cabinets, concrete, etc.Leaves a clean mint scent for several hoursWon’t damage or dull the finish on wood floorsWater-based and has a neutral pHSafe for people, pets and planet How to use Purodora Disinfectant and Animal Odor Neutralizer Clean floors and walls with ½ cup (120 ml) of Purodora Disinfectant and Animal Odor Neutralizer mixed with in 1 gallon (4 L) of water. Eliminating general pet odors in the ambient air A surprising amount of pet odors are actually trapped in the ambient air. Here’s how you can get rid of airborne animal odors in any room of your home. In homes WITH a ventilation system, air exchanger or air conditioning system Spray the diluted Purodora Disinfectant and Animal Odor Neutralizer on the filters of the ventilation or A/C system or air exchanger. Immediately reinstall the filters while still wet with the product and run the system continuously to distribute the product in the ventilation ducts and throughout the house to eliminate unwanted odors. If you can, respray the filters every 2 hours until the odor is completely gone. In homes WITHOUT a ventilation system, air exchanger or air conditioning system Spray the diluted Purodora Disinfectant and Animal Odor Neutralizer on a clean cloth and hang over a table or floor fan.Run the fan for one hour in each room where pet odors are present. Keep the windows open, if possible. You can treat multiple rooms at the same time if you have access to more than one fan. Eliminating pet urine odors Unlike general pet odors, which are often present throughout the house, urine odors are usually localized to specific areas – such as in the room where the litter box was kept. However, if the previous tenants had multiple pets – or if the pet was prone to “accidents”, there may be urine odors in more than one room. The first step is to locate the source of the urine odor. PRO TIP If you’re lucky enough to be able to ask the previous owners about the pets, this will make your odor-destroying job easier. Ask questions like: How long have you had pets? Where was the litter box or pee pad located? Did the pet tend to urinate in a specific spot? Did it ever urinate in other places? If you aren’t able to ask the previous tenants, use your nose. Get down on your hands and knees and start sniffing around the most common areas where pets tend to pee: patio doors, windowsills, near heaters, in bathrooms and the laundry room. You might feel a little silly, but your nose will tell you where the dried-up urine is hiding. Once you have found the source of the odor, use a proven urine odor neutralizer like Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer. Why use Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer: Neutralizes urine (and other odors) on contactEven totally destroys odors that have been ingrained for yearsEasy to use; just spray and walk awayWorks on both hard and soft surfaces: wood, ceramic & concrete floors, mattresses, carpets, sofas and moreWon’t stain fabricsLeaves a pleasant citrus scentAlcohol-based product that evaporates quickly to leave surfaces dryWon’t cause boards to swell and warp (like water-based product)Won’t promote the growth of mold How to use Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer is used in different ways, depending on the surface being treated. Eliminating pet urine odors from low-pile carpets or concrete floors Spray Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer directly on the affected surface and allow to air dry. No rinsing required. Eliminating pet urine odors from thick carpets Make a circle around the affected area and enlarge it by 4 to 5 inches to make sure the product reaches all of the urine. Inject Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer into the base of the carpet with a syringe and needle (it’s easy and it really works!). Start at the outside of the circle and work your way toward the center. Inject roughly 1 tsp (3 to 5 ml) of Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer at 1-inch intervals to make sure the product reaches all of the urine. PRO TIPWhat to do if Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer leaves a dark ring on fabrics Alcohol-based products like Urine Odor Neutralizer can sometimes leave a dark ring on certain colored fabrics where the dye has not set properly. No need to worry! Simply rub the fabric with a damp cloth and the stain will disappear immediately Eliminating pet urine odors from wood or ceramic floors When it comes to wood or ceramic floors, it’s not the boards or tiles where the urine odor is coming from, but the porous grout between the tiles and the spaces between and underneath the boards. You’ll need to get Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer into these small spaces for it to reach and neutralize the urine odor. Use a narrow squirt bottle to get the product into the grout or cracks in the floor with more precision.Wipe off any excess product on the surface of the floor with a damp cloth. Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer will instantly neutralize the urine odor on contact and then quickly evaporate without damaging the grout or causing the boards to swell and warp. Eliminating stubborn pet urine smell from floors Since gravity also works on urine, it may have sunk deeper into the concrete or carpet. In this case, a second treatment may be required. If the odor is coming from a baseboard trim, be sure to insert Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer between the floor and the baseboard using a squirt bottle. If the sections between the wood planks are too tight, you can use a syringe and needle instead of a squirt bottle. Eliminating cigarette smell in house Cigarette smoke can infiltrate just about anything in a home: the ventilation system, between walls, carpets, plastics – you name it. But it can be done, especially with the right products. PRO TIP Before tackling the cigarette odor problem in your home, look for any yellowish streaks on the walls. This might be a sign that the previous occupants smoked heavily or for a long time. A simple household cleaner will not be enough to remove these smoke streaks. A degreaser that’s safe to use on walls will do the trick. We recommend two cigarette odor neutralizers, depending on the type of surface being treated. Both are specifically designed to neutralize the cigarette, cigar and cannabis odors. Eliminating cigarette smell from hard surfaces Why use Purodora Smoke Odor Neutralizer for Hard Surfaces Guaranteed to work (contains a neutralizer specific to smoke odor from cannabis, cigarettes and cigars)Thoroughly cleans dirt and removes nicotine particles from any hard surfaceWater-based concentrated neutralizerBiodegradable and pH neutralSafe for people, pets & homeNo rinsing requiredLeaves a pleasant pine and citrus scent in the air for several hours after use How to use Purodora Smoke Odor Neutralizer for Hard Surfaces Mix ½ cup (120 ml) of Purodora Smoke Odor Neutralizer for Hard Surfaces with 1 gallon (4 L) of water and clean all hard surfaces (walls, floors, ceilings, cabinets, etc.) with a clean cloth. Allow to air dry. No need to rinse. Be sure to also clean the filters in your range hood. Eliminating cigarette smell from fabric surfaces Why use Purodora Smoke Odor Neutralizer for Fabrics Guaranteed to work (contains a neutralizer specific to smoke odor from cannabis, cigarettes and cigars)Completely eliminates smoke odors in fabrics and other soft surfaces such as upholstered furnitureEasy-to-use product, no diluting or rinsing requiredAlcohol-based neutralizer: works on contact and then quickly evaporates to eliminate the risk of fabrics mildewingWon’t stain fabricsAlso great for use on car seats, carpets & seatbeltsSafe for people, pets & homeLeaves a pleasant peach & sandalwood scent in the air for several hours after use How to use Purodora Smoke Odor Neutralizer for Fabrics Spray Purodora Smoke Odor Neutralizer for Fabrics on carpets, curtains or any other fabric that smells of cigarette smoke. Allow to air dry. No rinsing required. PRO TIP If the previous tenants were heavy smokers, or lived in the home for a long time, the nicotine molecule will probably have infiltrated everywhere – even behind the walls. You may need to repeat the treatment over several days. Don’t lose hope. Within a few days, Purodora Smoke Odor Neutralizer for Fabrics will reach the entire source of the odor and completely eliminate it. Eliminating cigarette smell from the ambient air In homes WITH a ventilation system, air exchanger or air conditioning system Option 1. Clean the filters. For best results, soak them in a bucket for 1 hour in 2 to 8 Tbsp. (30 to 120 ml) of Purodora Smoke Odor Neutralizer for Hard Surfaces mixed with 1 gallon (4 L) of water. (Use the lesser amount of product for light cleaning; the larger amount for deep cleaning). Make sure the filters are completely submerged. Option 2. Replace the filters if they are very old or dirty. Spray the new filters with the diluted Purodora Smoke Odor Neutralizer for Hard Surfaces. For both options, put the filters immediately back in the system and run it continuously to distribute the product through the system ducts. Re-spray the filters every 2 hours times to completely neutralize the odor in the air ducts and ambient air. PRO TIPAlways use a water-based odor neutralizer to clean filters in a ventilation system, air exchanger or air conditioning system Using an alcohol-based odor neutralizer could pose a fire risk if the filters are located close to the system’s motor. Purodora Smoke Odor Neutralizer for Hard Surfaces is water-based, so there’s no risk of fire. In homes WITHOUT a ventilation system, air exchanger or air conditioning system Spray Purodora Smoke Odor Neutralizer for Fabrics on a clean cloth and hang it over a fan. Run the fan continuously for one hour in the room. Keep the windows open, if possible.Repeat in each room that smells of smoke. You can treat multiple rooms at the same time if you have access to more than one fan. Eliminating damp and musty smells from the house If the house has been empty or sealed up for a while, it may have acquired a musty smell. Other homes can develop a damp smell – particularly in the basement, the garage or the bathroom. To eliminate this unpleasant smell, we recommend cleaning and treating the air with Purodora Damp Odor Neutralizer. It effectively eliminates all musty and damp odors. Why use Purodora Damp Odor Neutralizer Guaranteed to workCompletely eliminates damp odors in hard surfaces (concrete, wood, walls or ceilings)Easy-to-use product, no rinsing requiredAlso great for use on carpetsSafe for people, pets & homeLeaves a pleasant herbs & peach scent in the air for several hours after use How to use Purodora Damp Odor Neutralizer Step 1: Find out what’s causing the odor If you’re noticing a damp smell in your home, the very first thing you should do is try to identify and locate the source of the smell as it may be hiding a larger problem that will need to be fixed. Otherwise, the damp smell will just keep returning. PRO TIP If you can’t pinpoint the exact source of the problem, start by treating the air in your home. It might make it easier to identify where the smell is coming from. Eliminating damp and musty smells from hard surfaces Dilute ½ cup (120 ml) of Purodora Damp Odor Neutralizer in 1 gallon (4 L) of warm water and clean all hard surfaces (floors, cabinets, walls). Eliminating damp and musty smells from raw wood, plywood and metal Spray the diluted Purodora Damp Odor Neutralizer directly on the surface and allow to work. Eliminating damp and musty smells from the ambient air In homes WITH a ventilation system, air exchanger or air conditioning system Spray the new filters with the diluted Purodora Damp Odor Neutralizer. Put the filters back in the system while still wet with the product and run it continuously to distribute the product through the system ducts. Re-spray the filters every 2 hours times to completely neutralize the odor in the air ducts and ambient air. In homes WITHOUT a ventilation system, air exchanger or air conditioning system Spray the diluted Purodora Damp Odor Neutralizer on a clean cloth and hang it over a fan. Run the fan continuously for one hour in the room. If possible, keep the windows open.Repeat in each room with a damp or musty smell. You can treat multiple rooms at the same time if you have access to more than one fan. What to do if you still smell the odor after a couple of treatments Don’t worry. Just be patient and keep at it. It can take up to several days to completely eliminate the smell of smoke from a home – especially if the cigarette smell has been around for a long time. Don’t get discouraged. If 75% of the smell is gone within a few days, it means the treatment is working, but that there are still some nicotine particles left to neutralize. Keep treating the surfaces or rooms. Eventually you will eliminate 100% of the cigarette smell from your home, once and for all. Get more bang for your buck with multi-purpose odor destroyers We know how frustrating it can be to buy a specialized product you might only use once. Purodora products are designed to eliminate specific odors, but can also be used for a wide range of purposes both inside and outside the home. My Cat Pees Outside its Litter – What Should I Do?

Oh-oh. Is Nacho doing his business outside his litter box? Before you give him a stern talking to, know that this is a common problem among cats. In fact, we get asked how to remove cat pee smell ALL. THE. TIME. Read on for tips on how to prevent your cat from peeing all over the place and how you can stop your house from reeking of cat urine. Why is my cat peeing outside his litter box? We asked Daniel Fillion, feline behavior consultant at EduCATor, why a cat might pee outside its litter box. It turns out that there can be lots of reasons, but the two main ones are anxiety and the cat’s environment. This can be anything from a new guest, a new house or a new daily routine. Could your cat’s not wanting to pee in the litter box be health-related? Sometimes a health problem is behind the cat relieving itself outside the litter box. If in doubt, consult your veterinarian. And once you’ve eliminated this possibility, don’t punish your cat! Chances are it won’t understand why it's being punished, and if your cat is suffering from anxiety, this might only create even more anxiety, making the peeing problem worse. Litter box dos and don’ts Sometimes the litter box itself is the source of the problem. DODON’TAlways have as many litter boxes as cats, plus one (e.g. if you have two cats, you need to have three litter trays.)Use a flat litter box without a cover (cats want to monitor their surroundings at all times).Clean the litter box every single day.Add the right amount of litter; 1-2 inches is enough.Put multiple litter boxes in the same room.Put litter trays in a busy area of the housePut litter trays in an isolated corner where your cat never goes.Put the litter tray near the cat’s feeding area.Let other animals pick at the cat while it’s in the litter box. What should I do when my cat pees outside its litter box? It can sometimes take a while to get to the bottom of your cat’s peeing problem and actually resolve it. Until then, hang in there and follow these 3 recommendations: Every time your cat urinates outside of its litter box, clean it up as quickly as possible. When cats urinate, they release a pheromone that can incite it or another cat to relieve itself on that same spot. Use a safe and proven cat urine remover like Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer to completely eliminate the cat pee smell from your home (see recommendations below). If your cat keeps peeing in the same spot, consider temporarily putting a litter box at that exact spot. If needed, you can slowly inch it over to a location that’s more convenient. What’s the best cat urine remover? We recommend Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer. Here’s why: #1 pet urine remover of pet ownersNeutralizes the smell of animal pee on any surfaceAlcohol-based, so won’t damage surfaces; unlike water-based urine odor neutralizersSafe to use on concrete, wood, ceramic, carpets, mattresses, upholstery & more 3 ways to use Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer: 1. Spray it – Ideal for removing cat urine smell from clothing and low-pile carpeting. Simply spray the product 4 to 6 inches (10 to 15 cm) from the affected surface. If the surface is machine washable: Leave product on for 10-15 minutes when wash in the washing machine with regular laundry detergent. If the surface is NOT machine washable: Allow product to air dry. No need to rinse. If needed, repeat the treatment. 2. Squirt it – Ideal for when you need to get rid of cat pee smell lodged between the planks of a wood floor, or from the porous grout on a ceramic floor. Transfer the product to a squirt bottle (such as an empty ketchup bottle) and carefully squirt a generous amount directly on the area to be treated. Immediately remove any excess product with a clean cloth and allow the surface to air dry. No need to rinse. 3. Inject it – Ideal for reaching between tightly set wood planks, or when you need to get rid of a pee smell on a mattress, sofa or very thick carpet. Insert the product into a syringe with needle.Locate the area impregnated with pee and use a string to mark a circle around it (add an extra 4 to 5 inches (10 to 12 cm) all around, in case the urine has spread).Inject 1 tsp (5 ml) of product directly into carpet, mattress or cushion fabric. Inject the product every inch (2.5 cm) within the circle. Start at the outer edge of the circle and work your way in toward the center.Next, spray the product directly on the surface; it will seep into the material.Allow surface and inside of cushion/mattress/carpet to air dry. No rinsing required. If the first treatment with Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer does not work, it means the product didn’t come into contact with all of the urine. In this case, simply repeat the treatment. Pro Tip What to do if Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer leaves a dark ring on fabrics Alcohol-based products like Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer can leave a dark ring on some colored fabrics where the dye has not set properly. No need to worry! Simply rub the fabric with a damp cloth and the stain will immediately disappear. Don’t let a little cat pee cramp your lifestyle There’s no mistaking – or ignoring – the smell of cat urine. How to remove urine smell in car interiors

Being in a car that smells of cat or dog urine is no joy ride. If this is your first experience trying to remove pee smell from a vehicle, this article will explain exactly how to eliminate the smell completely in just a few easy steps. Best of all, this method is safe for you, your pet and your car’s interior. And it works like a charm! How to get rid of pet urine smell in car – step-by-step instructions Before you go running for your household cleaners, know that car interiors don’t take kindly to all products. Also know that most products designed specifically for car interiors aren’t formulated to treat urine odors. To effectively remove urine odor without damaging carpets or fabrics, always use a product like Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer. Here’s why Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer is the best product for removing urine smells in car interiors: It’s an odor neutralizer that totally eliminates urine odors (unlike deodorizers, which only mask odors and create an unpleasant mix of urine smell and whatever scent the product is).It even removes old urine smells that have been around for a long time.It won’t discolor car carpets and fabrics – including most leather seats. It’s guaranteed to work. It’s alcohol-based and dries very quickly, so it won’t promote the growth of mold or mildew (which can happen with water-based products). It also works on human urine (great to have in the glove compartment if you have little ones who pee in their infant or booster seater – or directly on the car seat).Plus it does a great job of removing pee smell from sofas, mattresses, hardwood, laminate, ceramic, cement, or other flooring. So it’s great for home and car. How to remove urine smell from car floors Step 1. Simply spray Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer on the urine and allow to air dry. (It really is that easy). How to remove urine smell from fabric car seats Keep in mind that if your pet peed on your car’s fabric seats, the urine may have seeped into the cushion. Don’t sweat it. Here’s what you do: Step 1. First, use a small string to create a circle around the affected area. Step 2. Inject half a syringe of Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer into the cushion at 1-inch intervals. Start at the outer edge of the circle and work your way in towards the center. Using a syringe might sound a little out there, but it works like a charm. Step 3. Spray the product on the surface of the seat and allow to air dry. Pro Tip What to do if Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer leaves a dark ring on fabrics Alcohol-based products like Urine Odor Neutralizer can leave a dark ring on some colored fabrics where the dye has not set properly. No need to worry! Simply rub the fabric with a damp cloth and the stain will disappear immediately. How to remove urine smell from leather car seats You always need to proceed with caution before applying any product to leather car seats. Here’s how you can safely get rid of pee smells from leather car seats: Step 1. Spray a small amount of Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer on an inconspicuous area first to test product compatibility. If the leather doesn’t discolor, you’re good to proceed to step 2. Step 2. Spray Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer on a clean cloth and thoroughly clean the affected area. Step 3. Wipe off any excess product with a damp cloth. Repeat as needed. Pro Tip To remove urine smell that has seeped through the leather and into the seat cushion Keep in mind that odor neutralizers need to reach all of the urine to eliminate all of the urine smell. Use a syringe and inject Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer via the seams of the seat to reach the urine embedded in the cushion. Then allow the product to air dry. Why does my cat or dog pee in the car? There are many reasons why your pet may be peeing in the car. It might have just been a one-time accident... or maybe not. If your dog or cat frequently pees in the car, it’s worth getting to the bottom of the problem so that car rides are more enjoyable for you and your pet. A few possible explanations: In cats, an inner ear disorder can cause motion sickness, resulting in nausea or vomiting. This physical discomfort could be triggering the peeing.Stress and anxiety – particularly if your dog or cat associates the car with a distressing experience such as a visit to the veterinarian. Feeling "trapped" in a small, moving space can also trigger anxiety. Whatever the cause, there are ways to help your pet adapt to travelling in a car. Read this article for practical tips on how to travel safely in the car with your pets. Worried about your pet’s peeing in the car? How to Get Pee Out of a Mattress for Good

Oh-oh. Did someone do their business on the bed? Your pet (or child) may have made your pee-stained bed, but it doesn’t mean you have to lie in it. Or go shopping for a new mattress, for that matter. Here’s an easy and proven way to completely get rid of urine smell in mattresses and bedding in no time – even old, deeply incrusted urine. Read on for step-by-step instructions and recommended products that are guaranteed to work. Products to AVOID using on a mattress Certain products should never be used on a mattress because they’ll only end up adding even more troubles to your urine problem: Water-based products: These products will leave the mattress wet and potentially cause it to develop mold or mildew.Enzyme or bacteria-based products: These products require water to work (see above). And when the enzymes or bacteria die, they become an attractive source of food for dust mites. Instead, use an alcohol-based odor neutralizer that’s specifically designed to neutralize the odor-causing molecules in urine. It will neutralize the odor on contact and then evaporate quickly to leave your mattress dry and completely free of that pungent pee smell. Best product for cleaning urine from a mattress Getting rid of urine smell on a mattress is surprisingly easy when you’re working with the right product. Hands down, the best urine odor remover for all soft surfaces and thick cushions (such as a mattress) is Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer.  Here’s why:  Specifically designed to neutralize the smell of urine instantly and permanently (both human and animal urine)Easy to use – just spray and walk awayAlcohol-based: works on contact and evaporates quickly; no risk of moldWon’t discolor fabricsSafe for people and pets How to get urine out of mattresses quickly and completely Here’s how you get urine out of a mattress in 3 easy steps (even old, caked-in urine): Step 1. Determine the location of the urine odor on the mattress. Not all accidents will leave a tell-tale pee stain. Use your nose and sniff around. Once you’ve located the urine (remember it may be in more than one spot), encircle each spot with a small string.  Pro Tip  Make these circles 4 or 5 inches larger than you think they need to be. Urine often seeps through the surface and spreads underneath. Step 2. Inject Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer into the mattress with a syringe and needle. (If you’ve never used a syringe and needle before to remove odors embedded in a thick cushion or mattress, you’re going to be amazed by how well it works. And how easy it is!) Start at the outside of the circle and work your way toward the center. Inject 1 Tsp (5 ml) of Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer at 1-inch intervals to make sure the product reaches all of the urine. The key is to reach all of the urine. Pro Tip Press down on the mattress with your hand as you insert the needle to help the product penetrate deeper to reach the urine that has been pulled down by gravity.  Step 3. Spray Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer on the surface of the mattress affected by the urine. Pro Tips Alcohol-based products like Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer can sometimes leave a dark ring on certain colored fabrics where the dye has not set properly. No need to worry! Simply rub the fabric with a damp cloth and the stain will disappear immediately. Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer has a mild citrus scent. Although the scent disappears quickly, it might bother certain people. We recommend that you open the windows or use a fan to ventilate the room. All Purodora odor neutralizers are safe for people, pets and fabrics. And that’s it! Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer will neutralize the odor upon coming into contact with the urine molecules and then quickly evaporate to leave the top and inside of the mattress dry. Pro Tip No need to waste your money It’s very rare for an entire mattress to be covered with urine. No need to use up your entire bottle of Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer. Save yourself time and money and spray only the spots where the urine is located. Trust us: it’s guaranteed to work! What if my mattress smells of urine after treatment? If your mattress still smells like pee after a first treatment with Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer, it means the product didn’t reach all of the urine mass the first time around. You simply need to do a second treatment. Pro Tip The key is to reach ALL of the urine. Odor neutralizes must reach the entire source of the odor in order to eliminate it completely. If the urine odor persists: Repeat steps 1 through 3 above.Turn the mattress over and do the same treatment on the other side (sometimes urine seeps very deep into the mattress). This second treatment should do the trick. How to remove the smell of dog or cat urine from a blanket or comforter Removing pee smell from bedding is just as easy: Step 1. Spray Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer directly on the urine on the blanket or comforter from a distance of 4 to 5 inches (10 to 15 cm). Be sure to spray both sides of the blanket so that the product penetrates deeply to reach all of the fibers of the fabric smelling of urine. Step 2. Machine wash the blank with regular laundry soap. What’s the difference between a neutralizer and a deodorizer? A neutralizer completely eliminates the odor while a deodorizer only masks the odor temporarily. The odor will return after a while with a deodorizer. Pee happens. Be ready.  If you have pets or young children, the surfaces in your home or car are bound to get peed on at least once. Why pay big bucks to have them professionally cleaned when a little bottle of odor neutralizer will completely get rid of the smell in no time?  Purodora Urine Odor Neutralizer also works great on adult urine. How to Get Rid of Cat Pee Smell in Litter Box

Does your house smell of cat litter? Or worse – ammonia? No need to throw out your cat’s litter box; just eliminate the odor! Here’s how to finally get rid of that cat pee smell in 3 easy steps. Best of all, this method is safe for you and your cat. Read on. You’ll be breathing easy in no time. How to get rid of cat pee smell in litter tray – step-by-step instructions You can clean your cat’s litter box all you want, but if you don’t use a product that can neutralize the cat pee odor that has seeped into the plastic, that awful smell will just return. Here’s how you can stop your litter box from smelling up the house – completely and safely – in 3 easy steps: Step 1: Empty the litter box (below we also offer tips on how to stop cat litter from smelling of urine). Step 2: Use the right odor remover. The best product to get rid of cat pee smell is Purodora Litter Box Odor Neutralizer. It’s safe for your cat and works miracles on litter boxes. Step 3: Spray the inside of the tray with Purodora Litter Box Odor Neutralizer. Wait 10 minutes so that the product can infiltrate the plastic’s pores and eliminate the deep-set odors, then rinse with clean water. And that’s it! You can now take a deep breath without wincing! How often should I replace my cat’s litter box? Litter boxes aren’t made to last forever and should be changed every 1 to 2 years. To avoid premature wear, avoid cleaning the box with regular household products. They can degrade the plastic and actually make the cat urine smell worse. Some products can also be unsafe or unpleasant for cats. Tips for changing your cat’s litter box Keep the following in mind when buying a new litter box for your cat: Make sure it’s big enough. The tray should be big enough to accommodate the equivalent of 3 cats at the same time.Forget the cover. Cats feel more secure in an uncovered litter box because it lets them easily survey their surroundings.Keep it in the same spot. Cats are creatures of habit. If you suddenly change the location of its litter box, it might get upset and decide not to use it anymore. If you have to change the location, move the box gradually. Oh-oh – your cat rejected its new litter box and peed on the floor? Here’s how to get cat or dog pee smell out of any floor surface – including porous concrete. How to stop cat litter from smelling of cat urine Now that you’ve gotten rid of the cat pee smell from the litter box, there are a few things you can do to prevent the cat litter from smelling up your house in the future: Use the right amount of cat litter. Clean the litter box every day.Replace the litter regularly (see the product label for recommendations). Am I using too much cat litter? Not using enough? The rule of thumb is 2 to 2.5 inches (5 to 7 cm) of cat litter per tray. You want the litter to be deep enough so that the cat can scratch without hitting the bottom of the tray. Risk of not using enough cat litter The urine will reach the bottom of the tray and penetrate the pores of the plastic. Eventually, the ammonia smell will return. The cat’s claws will also reach the bottom of the tray and damage the plastic. The urine will seep into the grooves, making the cat urine smell even harder to remove. Risk of using too much cat litter The cat will dig around more than necessary, kicking litter out of the box and making a mess. It might also bury the poop where you might not be able to find it. But your cat will certainly notice and may decide to stop using the box altogether. Get rid of any odor problem We care about your comfort and safety – and that of your pets.
