The carpets in our homes protect our floors and absorb water and dirt. However, they can sometimes retain unpleasant odors that are very off-putting when we enter our home. Here are the four most common carpet odors and how to effectively eliminate them in minutes.
Removing musty odors from a carpet
In rainy and snowy weather, our entrance mat absorbs much more water than usual, and after a while, it may emit a musty odor. To quickly eliminate this odor, we recommend spraying Fabric Smoke Odor Eliminator all over your carpet. This product acts as soon as it touches the source of the bad odor, and in a few minutes, the musty smell will have completely disappeared. If the water has completely soaked through the carpet and it is wet on both sides, you can spray the Fabric Smoke Odor Eliminator on the other side to ensure complete elimination of the musty odor.
If you want to clean your musty carpet, you can use Humidity Odor Eliminator. Simply dilute 120 ml of this product in four liters of water and pour it into a carpet cleaning machine. Then clean your carpet and let it dry with a fan.
Eliminating cat or dog urine odor from a carpet
Your cat or dog gets nervous when you have visitors and has an accident on your entrance mat or living room carpet. Effectively neutralize this bad odor with Urine Odor Eliminator. This product is very effective for urine odors and does not damage fabrics. If your carpet is thin, simply spray the product on the area affected by the urine odor (both sides of the carpet) and let it dry. If you want to clean your carpet, we recommend diluting 4 ounces of Hard, Non-Porous Surface Disinfectant and Pet Odor Eliminator in 4 liters of water and adding this dilution to a carpet cleaning machine. Then clean the carpet and let it dry with a fan.
If your carpet is thicker, simply use a small string to draw a circle around the urine area and enlarge it by a few centimeters (the area where the urine is located may have expanded a bit). Then, using a syringe with a needle, inject the Urine Odor Eliminator, starting treatments from the outside of the circle inwards (see diagram below). Inject 3 to 5 ml of product and space each injection about 1 inch apart. Finally, spray the Urine Odor Eliminator on the treated area and let it dry.
Neutralizing dog odor
If your dog always lies on your carpet and its fur gives off a bad smell, the carpet fibers may absorb this odor and then emit a dog or wet fur smell. To quickly get rid of this bad odor, simply spray Pet Bedding Odor Eliminator all over the fabric and let it work. This product is specifically formulated to eliminate dog odor on carpets, even if the odor has been present for a long time. This product is safe for animals and does not damage fabrics. It is recommended to always test on a small, inconspicuous area and not use on fabrics that may stain in the presence of water. If you want to clean your carpet, simply use the same method as mentioned above with the Pet Odor Disinfectant and Eliminator and the carpet cleaner.
Removing sweat odor
During winter, our boots and feet can sometimes give off a sweat odor. By taking off our shoes on the same carpet every day, after a while it can start to smell like sweat. To remove this bad odor, we recommend spraying the Fabric Smoke Odor Eliminator directly on the carpet and letting the product work.
Expert tip
If you find any of these odor problems on other absorbent surfaces like curtains, clothes, or bedding, you can treat them in the same way as with a carpet.
