Instructions

Skunk Odors

Before using this product, treat pet’s coat with Skunk Odor Neutralizer for Pets FIRST; do not rinse. Then apply small amounts of undiluted shampoo directly to still-wet coat. Massage into a rich lather over entire coat, including head. Leave product on 20 minutes, then rinse with cold water. To treat heavy skunk spray, wait an additional 10 minutes before rinsing.

Wet-dog smell

Wet pet’s coat, then apply small amounts of undiluted shampoo directly to coat. Massage shampoo into a rich lather over entire coat, including head. Leave product on 5 to 10 minutes, then rinse with clean water.

Skunk Shampoo!

My pooch was hit square in the face by a skunk one night, and I only had home remedies on hand. While the peroxide, baking soda, dish soap combo followed by a vinegar bath worked to tame the smell from dumpster/chemical fire down to “ew, did a skunk walk through the room?”, the stench lingered for days. Do I need to rinse the animal before applying the products?

If the animal has received yellowish liquid from the skunk, you absolutely must rinse the animal's coat 3 times with clear water. Why do you need to do this? Yellow skunk liquid is highly irritating to the skin and can cause severe reactions. What's more, if the liquid touches your pet's epidermis, the smell will be very difficult to get rid of.
So, to avoid any complications, we recommend rinsing your pet at least 3 times with clear water before applying our products.
